Attachments disabled + How to upload images

Postby Ossie » Mon Aug 31, 2015 6:53 pm

We've decided to disable to attachment feature on the forums in favor external uploads. This helps us maintain within our available disk size + enables us to allow bigger avatar images (now 64kB).

We've seen that many people used the attachment feature to upload images, so here is a guide to our suggested method of adding images, which gives you a lot more options than attachments:

1. Upload your image to an image hoster (we suggest http://imgur.com)
2. Copy the image URL
3. Paste the URL in your forum post between IMG tags
Tip: If you upload your image to imgur, they'll automatically also generate a BBCode link, which includes the IMG tags
4. If the image is too big, you can replace the IMG tags with IMGWIDTH

An example:
If I upload an image to imgur it gives me the URL http://i.imgur.com/0gx19G6.png
You can post this image on the forum with the IMG tags:

Code: Select all

[img]http://i.imgur.com/0gx19G6.png[/img]

Alternatively, you can post the image with a different size with the IMGWIDTH tag (e.g. 200px wide):

Code: Select all

[imgwidth=200]http://i.imgur.com/0gx19G6.png[/imgwidth]

We hope this helps everyone who had trouble with image!

This is a little embarrassing, but I am not allowed on that site. I would really like to post my pics though, is there another way to do it? Also, if there is, please list mobile instructions as my internet is still out. Thanks!
